From the studio that brought you The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya!
When eating a chocolate cornet which end do you begin with, the top or the bottom? Which side is the top and which is the bottom? For that matter, what is a chocolate cornet? The proper way to eat pastries is only one of the many every day occurrences explored by the girls of Ms. Kuroi's class. Meet Konata, an athletic and intelligent girl too dedicated to her favorite primetime animes to excel in anything but otaku culture; Miyuki, the cute, bespectacled living example of Moe with an encyclopedic knowledge of all subjects; Kagami, the bitter-sweet, tough but shy sister; Tsukasa, a kind but air-headed klutz. Witness this study in the human condition as our heroines explore the unexplored in questioning the ordinary!

As anyone purchasing this should know, Lucky Star originated in manga form. The successful anime came afterwards. That said, the manga's been long awaited here in the U.S. and readers will not be disappointed when they dive into the original Lucky Star that started it all.

Lucky star has loose humor and can really relax you if you are stressed.

This manga is really good, espiecally for starters. I mean, the manga is really hilarious and makes you laugh at every joke they make... Kind of. But this really warms up your heart while you read this. So if you feel down or don't know what to do, I strongly recommend picking this manga up and start reading it.

ok, i am a fan of lucky star. i watch the anime, and have all sorts of fan merchandise. when i read online that an english volume is coming out, i was like "WOAH!" Lucky star is a great series for anyone who likes slice of life manga. i was still disappointed when my barnes and noble didn't have this book until at least 2 weeks it was supposed to be on shelves. anyway, great series though! check me out on youtube: ntp12!

I'm not one to use the above title as my mantra when describing manga, but it definitely applies to this series if this first volume is any indication. The reason for this is because considering that the series has no driving plot and is primarily just a series of conversations, it's easier to take in 4-panel doses rather than 22-minute sized ones. The humor is light and consistent, the art enticing, and I'm sure any reader can find something relatable to themselves or someone they know within the book's pages. While it may not appeal to every reader, I know I enjoyed it immensely.

Great for anyone from the new to anime/manga to the otaku (anime/manga lover). Not very action-y but that's what I like about it. I'd recommend it to anyone!
