A perfect introduction to the story of Star Wars. We read this before our kids saw any of the movies. It has stills from the movies and explains the story very simply and clearly. FYI - some spoilers in the book.

Outstanding! My 5-year-old cannot get enough of this book - she reads it several times every day. I thought it was extremely well-written for this level, despite the fictional names which are obviously not Level 1 sight-words... HOWEVER, the character names are introduced on a page with a large photo of the character (1 or 2 at a time), so if your child knows the movies, you can teach them to use context clues to figure out what those words are. I am highly impressed with this book and hope the others in the series are this good. I plan to get a few more of these soon, as this one has been read so often my 2-year-old can now recite it...

My grandson is a fan of everything Star Wars and his eyes just lit up when he received the series I purchased for him. He loves to read, but this series encourages him to read even more. He won't go to bed without reading to himself. It is such a pleasure to see that if you encourage their interest in books, video games will always be last on the list!

I bought this book for my 5 1/2 year old grandson who loves Star Wars and is just learning to read. He loved it and will be reading it on his own very soon I'm sure. Mary Ann Powell

Great introduction to Star Wars and the main characters. Warning though... it does reveal that Darth Vader is Luke's father! Great easy reader for reluctant new readers.

This is a fine early reader book if your child has seen Star Wars, Empire, and Return of the Jedi. If your child has not seen all three movies it manages to spoil many of the best plot points in a mere 31 pages. Had I known how much this book would reveal I never would have bought it.
