The universality of lullabies is celebrated with this collection of melodies from around the world. Appropriately soothing and sweet, this collection of Celtic, Swedish, American, Canadian, American Indian, Japanese, Spanish, and African-American lullabies is performed by some of the world's most respected performers, all of whom are perfectly suited for this kind of project. I Also Recommend:

One of my favorite lullaby collections

I love this collection of music. It includes a variety of types of pieces from multiple cultures. Some lullaby collections include numbers that are more "energizing" than relaxing or restful, but that is not so much the case with this one. I have used this for years during rest/nap time as an early childhood educator. Although there's no guarantee it will make everyone fall asleep, I really enjoy listening to it and it seems the children do, too.

    Favorite Lullaby Album

Like one of the other Moms, this CD has an emotional pull for me as much as my daughter. It lulled us both to sleep when she was an infant and although she is almost 5 now, it is still a favorite at bedtime.

Five years .. and counting... of good night sleep!

I purchased this CD while pregnant in early 2003. It has lulled to sleep my now five-year old daughter, literally, hundreds of nights over the years! The sweetness of the songs and the variety of cultures represented make this CD a treasure. While listening to these songs when my daughter was a baby, I fell asleep numerous times while rocking her -- and it continues to have the same affect on me! Like a special "lovie" this CD has traveled with us and has been an integral part of the bedtime routine. While I have grown attached to all of the songs on the CD at this point (probably more than my daughter!), I still have a few real favorites: Swedish Lullaby, Sweet Lullaby, and Common Thread.

    The best Lullaby for Baby

Both of my sons responded very well to this CD as babies and small children. My husband and I have very fond memories of rocking/holding them in the middle of the night, listening to the unique and soothing sounds of these artists. Highly recommended. A great shower gift.

    It put me to sleep...

When our Quiet Time CD mysteriously disappeared from our Kindergarten classroom I went out and picked up this one. It was GREAT! I always screen any materials I bring into the classroom so I put this on one afternoon while I was reading and it made me fall asleep. It has a collection of lullabies from all over the world. The CD begins a little bit upbeat and as it progresses it slows to lull the listener into sleep. My favorite track is "Sweet Lullaby" by Deep Forest. When I brought it to our classroom it quickly became the favorite Quiet Time music. Children who normally tossed and turned through the whole Quiet Time are now taking much-needed naps. This CD has been field-tested and comes highly recommended. Why 5 stars?: The collection celebrates lullabies from all over the world. The beat also slowly lulls the listener to sleep. It also worked wonders in field tests.
