Overview

City slicker Ami Jordan was just dumped by her back-stabbing boyfriend, has no job prospects, and can't find a decent cup of coffee in the entire state of Vermont. The last thing she needs is a sexy, bearded lumberjack complicating her life. Even if he's smart, talented, and has the hottest ass she's ever seen.

Tree house builder, environmental champion, and Bulldog owner Marcus Anderson has no patience for flatlanders with an attitude. But when landscape designer Ami Jordan shows up at his log cabin, he suddenly develops a hankering for a high-maintenance city gal. Now his house looks like a jungle, his recycling is in disarray, and his libido's on fire.

He's a lumberjack in love.

Meet the Author

PENNY WATSON is a native Pittsburgher whose love of romance started at the age of twelve when she discovered Gone With The Wind in the middle school library. This resulted in numerous attempts at a first novel involving a young lady with windswept hair who lived in a tree house.

A biologist by training, Penny has worked at various times as a dolphin trainer, science teacher, florist, and turfgrass researcher. After taking time off to raise her two spirited children, she decided to rekindle her passion for storytelling with the support of a wonderful writer's group, The Quirky Ladies. Now she gets to incorporate her wide array of interests, including gardening, cooking and travel into her works of fiction. Penny lives outside of Boston with one fly-fishing crazed husband, two lively Filipino kids, and a wiener dog.

    4.5 Stars of Bearded Goodness

Since reading APPLES SHOULD BE RED, I've developed a "thing" for Penny Watson. I am fairly certain she is aware of my admiration . . . to date no restraining orders have been filed.

For me, Penny is an author (one of a select few) leading the charge in redefining the contemporary romantic fiction genre. By tweaking the traditional/formulaic recipe, Penny has carved out her own niche with quality writing, the right amount of quirk, an acerbic sense of humor and damn good stories.

You are probably thinking, "If I have read one lumberjack story, I have read them all." I IMPLORE YOU TO THINK AGAIN! This novella is not a run-of-the-mill story of opposites attract. Marcus is a super-hot and brawny mountain man felled by a Flatlander. He unwillingly finds verbally sparring with the adorably snarky city slicker impossible to resist. Ami is a sassy (and brainy, too!) woman in search of a good cuppa. She endures all things "nature-y" in Vermont for her family only to discover the man of her dreams comes wrapped in facial hair and flannel. Watson has stacked LUMBERJACK IN LOVE with layers of sweet, sexy humor and dialogue and a quirky yet believable cast of major and supporting characters. It's flirty, fun, feel-good fiction about falling in love.

This was such a fun, quirky, enjoyable read! Penny Watson had me at lumberjack! Why aren't more romances written about the bearded man who is oooh so manly sexy. The characters were funny, sassy, and utterly charming. I already bought the first in the Klaus brothers series and can't wait to read that one next. I bet they'll be bearded too! Woot! Highly recommended read.

    Absolutely Perfect-Great for the Holidays!!

When you don't have time for a 400 page book but want a wonderful romance, let me recommend Ms. Watson's Lumberjack in Love. Truly a delightful treat. It's funny, sexy, has a "meaty" story, and is a perfect romance. This is a story I'll reread over and over. Marcus is delightful (beard and all!) and has a bulldog! Need I say more about Watson's scrumptous hero! Ami is a tornado that enters his life and changes it forever. Give yourself a treat this holiday season-you won't be sorry!!
