I am a relatively new believer. I know people who are strong in their walk, and it seemed like a mystery. Then, I read Luminous. It opened up how I can stay present with the Lord in the middle of day- to -day life. Luminous is filled with real life stories, scripture, practices, and Pastor David's teachings all focused on bringing to our life that "God wants to love his world through you." (Luminous, p121). It answered questions I had like "How do I really pray?" "What is the Holy Spirit?" "What is pride?" "How do I surrender to the Lord?" It is serious at times and just plain fun at others. I found myself laughing at some of the stories like the one with the lady doing her best to be a good Christian at a yoga class where someone's foot kept being stuck in her face. Luminous will be a book that I will refer to again and again in the years to come. It is simple and deep. It is written for all Christians no matter where they are in their walk. What a special blessing this is to read at any age, but I can only imagine the blessing of knowing what it is to live with the Lord for the youngest among us.
