Overview

The O’Donnell brothers continue to cast their lines and find love in this alluring romance from the bestselling author of Off the Hook (“A must-read for fans of second-chance love stories.”—Lauren Layne).

Seasick. That’s how Jessie Todd feels when her best friend and boss, Finn O’Donnell, tells her that the Buoys will be featured on a popular fishing program—which just so happens to be hosted by a guy she used to date. She’s still friendly with her ex, but her new feelings for Finn are making things . . . complicated. His life is out on the sea, and though Jessie works at the resort, her paralyzing phobia of water keeps her on land, where she’s safe. To take a shot with Finn, she’ll need to face her fears—and her innermost desires—head-on.

Finn has been nursing a crush on Jess for a long time, so when she suddenly asks for swimming lessons, he dives right in. Holding her shaking hand as she steps into the ocean makes his heart swell—despite the sinking feeling that she’s just doing it to impress that smarmy TV host. Finn doesn’t trust anyone with his bruised and battered heart, but he’ll be forced to lay it all on the line to keep Jess from being the one that got away.

The second in the series, I’ve read it from the beginning, and while you won’t go wrong reading these in order, Drewry does manage to provide enough background to pick up this series at any point. Her writing has progressed in ways that I had hoped for, while still providing a character driven plot and a fearless head-on approach to tackling more difficult subjects, she’s softened the conflicts and issues somewhat in this series, and the result is a fun read. We met Jessie in Off the Hook, and while she was fun and funny, the searing glances she shot Finn’s way were indicative of more to come. Now, she’s back with her own story – and several big secrets. See, the Buoys are due for some national attention with a popular television program arriving to film a fishing show. Thing is, Jesse already ‘knows’ the star of the show Hooked, as she and Sam had a torrid fling that ended when she returned to help out the O’Donnell brothers (mostly her bestie Finn). Finn O’Donnell is a bit abrupt, less than cuddly with everyone, except Jessie. He’s had a crush on her for years, and while he knows she’s terrified of water, she’s never shared the why. He’s thinking that the time together before the Hooked crew arrives will be perfect to get to the bottom of her secret, even though he won’t push her too far. Oh , and it doesn’t hurt that they are already besties, but he wants more. Oh this was cute. Most of the conflict here was the push-me-pull-you attraction between Jessie and Finn, and how they both tried to ignore it, then went with it, then pulled back again because they both were afraid. When Sam arrives, there’s a touch of jealousy, and seeing how Jessie relates to him, Finn knows he needs to step up and make his moves…definitively. A wonderful friends to lovers story that is reasonably low in angst and stress, where only the characters get in their own way repeatedly on their way to a happy ending. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Lured In is the Second in the Fishing for Trouble series but can be read as a stand alone. The story tells the story of Finn "Fish Whisper " O'Donnell and Jack of all trades Jessie Todd. Both characters have a very rich past and a long friendship with each other. Jessie experienced a traumatic event in her childhood and now is ironically very afraid of the water. She asks Finn to help overcome her fear and their relationship is taken to another level. I really enjoyed reading and learning about these rich characters. I thought the story was well written. Overall, if you are a fan of friends to lover and contemporary romance, this is the book for you. I was given a free copy for an honest review.

This is the first I read in this series and I did not have a problem enjoying the story. Finn and Jess are two people who have experienced very traumatic pasts and have tried to protect themselves from further hurt. Jess decides it is time to begin moving beyond her past and trusts Finn to help. Their friendship is a strong one and it was fun watching it become more. I loved all the characters and look forward to more in this series. I highly recommend this book. I received a copy of this story through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

5 HUGE hearts!! Man I loved this book! I did not want to stop reading! And that scene that inspired the cover… whoa! I just…. I can't even.. It was fantastic! Had life not gotten in the way I would have devoured this book in one sitting! Drewry’s writing just swept me away and I felt like I was there watching it all take place… (well that sounds kinda creepy and stalkerish of me, when I put it that way… but you get what I mean!) I LOVED Finn and Jessie together! Those two are made for each other. In the last book I had thought the same thing and was super stoked when I found out they got their story here! Jessie is just the strong, spunky, lay-it-on-the-line kinda girl Finn needs and I love how patient Finn is with her and I love how he loves her, fully and completely. Friends to lovers.. always a good story! As I said earlier Drewry’s writing was perfect. This book brought tears to my eyes at one point, I laughed more than once and dreamily sighed a lot. She has fast become one of my favourite authors and I truly cannot wait for the next book she writes! Definitely an auto-buy author for me! *I received an arc in exchange for an honest review* Original review posted at: http://paragraphsandpetticoats.blogspot.ca/

This is a friends to lovers charming story with a HEA ending. The characters of Jessie and Finn are a couple who made falling in love so much fun. It was very heartwarming how Finn helped Jessie overcome her fears, but there was more to the story with the setting of a fishing lodge. Throw in an ex boyfriend and interesting secondary characters, with some humor on top, and you have an engaging romance. This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley for my honest review.

Jessie and Finn have worked together and been around each other for 13 years but are stymied by their new attraction for each other. They have each sacrificed for Finn's family's business to thrive and both have given their all to turn it around. Finn has abandonment issues from his mother and Jessie is awkward in social situations and is uncomfortable around most men. They both have leaned on each other before but their new feelings have them both reeling for a while. Finn is known as the family screw up and his brother, Liam and girlfriend, Kate, do not help the situation. Both Liam and Kate were both selfish in pushing Jessie to make nice to a former boyfriend, Sam, whose show can make their lodge prosper once again. The problem was, neither asked what Liam and Jessie wanted, just saw the bottom line. I didn't care for that at all. Finn struggles to prove himself to Jessie and, at points, I was more than a little disappointed in Jessie. She seemed to feel it was her right to tell Finn the way their relationship was going to be. When dealing with a person with abandonment issues, is it really the best idea to make a decision that will take you away from that person without first discussing it with them? That answer to that for me was no. Although Finn does grow and address his issues, I would have liked to see Jessie show the same. The story flowed well and was a good addition to this series. I was given an ARC via NetGalley for an honest review.

LOVED this book! It's the second in the Fishing for Trouble series but easily read standalone. I adored Jessie in the first book and she's just as lovable this time around. Since she first came to work at The Buoy's Jessie and Finn have always been close. Of all the O'Donnell brothers Finn is the one that completely got her. Their relationship seems to be changing now. Is she ready to risk what they have for something more? Is he? What if it doesn't work? More importantly what if it does? This is a fairly classic friends to lovers story but the characters and storyline that ties it all together makes it one of the best I've read. I'd say this is a definite must read. I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the first book of this series, so I was eager to get my hands on this one. Even more once I saw it was Jessie's story. I loooooved her in the first book and she was just as awesome this time around. She's smart and strong and stands up to these boys like there's no tomorrow. And yet it's Finn who completely undoes her. Finn is brash and maybe a little sullen, but when he's with Jessie, it's like a kid in a candy store. Reading the two of them figure this out was so amusing. Yes, there's a bit of drama and some miscommunication, but nothing that made me want to scream. My main complaint was that I wanted a bit more from the epilogue, but I'm sure I'll see what I want in {what I'm guessing will be} Ronan's book. Overall, a super fun book that I know I'll be rereading. **Huge thanks to Loveswept and NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**

I did a little happy dance when I received this book for a review since I adored the book one, Off The Hook, and I have been wanting to go back and spent some time with the gang since the early indications showed that it is going to be Jessie and Finn's story. I felt the sparks in the previous book, and I was so excited to see how these two friends would find their way to each other's hearts. And Jessie and Finn didn't disappoint. They were just as delightfully charming and sexy as I thought they would be. The bond they had had since the day they met, was strong. They trusted each other more than anyone else, and they were not afraid to show their vulnerability to each other. Both of them had issues from their childhood, that had messed with them most of their lives, and affected to their lives on a basic level. Yet, with each other's help, they were opening up, tackling these painful memories, and healing from them. I loved how their relationship was shaping and developing, how they stood up for each other and were willing to protect each other. But, and this was a surprise for me, as much as I loved Kate and Liam in Off The Hook, I couldn't stand them in Lured In. It has been a long time since a secondary character has made me as mad as Liam and Kate managed to do. Liam and Kate revealed some unattractive characteristics, that floored me. Liam did try to explain/excuse their reasons, but for me, there wasn't redemption for those two. Did that mean I didn't love the story? No, I stayed up late, because I couldn't put it down. I loved the story, and would recommend this series for anyone loving well-written romance novels. It got my emotions involved, I was rooting for Jessie and Finn, I loved that they are finally getting the business back on its feet and off the red numbers. I loved the hard work they all put in and the sacrifices they were all willing to do to make it work. I loved and supported Finn and Jessie every step of the way. A captivating story with a fitting name, since it lured me into the tale completely. The family drama, the childhood turmoils, the friends and lovers, the healing from the past and learning to trust in your heart... A fascinating and marvelous tale, filled with life, growth, healing, and love ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
