This book follows Lute from growing up in North Dakota to his future success at Iowa and Arizona. This book contains all the basketball information your looking for: great info on the motion offense, thoughts on the problems facing basketball today, and a take on the east coast bias. Where this book stands out though is the relationship between Lute and his wife Bobbi and how their relationship impacted his teams. The family style environment they created was not only a great read but sentimental. Lute is one of the best coaches hands down. I never thought a book would top "The Carolina Way" by Dean Smith, but this one did and will forever be in my library. Highly recommend it to any basketball fan or anyone who aspires to coach one day....

"Lute! Seasons of My Life," by Lute Olson was a great memoir. Olson goes over his career as a basketball coach through high school to collegiate. He goes though his ups and downs not just his love for basketball, but the love for his family and wife. He shows the impact basketball can have on an individual’s life and how important it was to him. Lute Olson is one of the best coaches in NCAA basketball history and his teams’ successes on the court prove just that. This book is juiced with information and anecdotes of Lute's career and it could not have been any better. On the other hand, it does not just focus on his love for basketball. In addition, it provides the importance of family on someone’s career. It shows that no matter who you are, without a supportive family, it is hard to reach your dreams, but with a supportive family the possibilities are endless. Lute’s wife Bobbi plays such a vital role in his entire career and without her it would have made his life that much harder. She also played a big part in all of his jobs as well. Overall, this was a fantastic novel and I would not just recommend it to all basketball fans, but also to anyone interested in a story of success and love for family.
