Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Melissa A. Caudill
Meet Amelia and Nadia, best friends who have been separated by a move. Their unique friendship is captured through their postcards and letters to one another in a notebook created by Amelia. They write back and forth to each other about realistic problems that they are facing in their lives. Nadia's father is in a serious car accident and counts on his daughter to help, which means less time to do the things she wants to do. Meanwhile, Amelia is dying to know all about her real father whom she has never met. Their writings reflect a true friendship, finding each other in times of need, asking for help, and giving advice along with enjoying each other's companionship. The letters end but obviously there will be a sequel to find out what happens when Amelia writes a letter to her father. Will he write back? Will he remember her? The book is designed to look like a school notebook complete with lined paper. There are several of Amelia's illustrations accompanying the letters and postcards. A few pages have actual envelopes and pull out letters, which makes for a truly interactive reading experience. This book was a thoroughly enjoyable, fun read and is sure to hook young readers on the series. It will hopefully promote the art of letter writing between distant friends or pen pals.

    The Coolest Book Ever!

In this book, you can actually take out the letters from the book! It's in little envelopes, and you take out the letters, and read them! They are too interesting! So I loooooove it! P.S. My name is Nadia too!
