Being captured, then scheduled for dissection and death were the least of Lyon's concerns after meeting nurse, Samara. She fried his circuits in ways he has never experienced. He needs to get her out of his system before he experiences a complete shutdown. Not quite human or machine, cyborg Lyon is caught between two worlds. He has no sympathy for inferior humans, but he feels likes there is something missing. Samara literally slams into his world. She is a pretty little thing and he is instantly drawn to her. As commander of his cyborg team, Lyon is required to be big, strong and detached at all times. His race is in the fight for their lives, but the only thing on his mind is the sweet nurse that he just has to have. Samara Williams sure liked what she saw when she looked at the bound prisoner. Cyborgs have a reputation for being merciless killers, but all she saw was sex on legs. She was raised to be non-judgmental and she refused to believe the man before her was anything like the stories she had heard. She would give him a chance and allow his actions to prove to her that he is worthy of her friendship and trust. From prisoner to captor, Lyon has taken Samara and not because they need medics back at his base. He wants her for himself and he will do anything to keep her. His world comes crashing down when he thinks she has betrayed him. It will take the heart of a human to change the mind of a machine. I was apprehensive at one point that the story would fall into predictability. After a major confrontation between Lyon and Samara, I was afraid that Samara would wither and bend to Lyon's intimidation, but she held her own and she persevered. I enjoyed that she didn't fall back into a quiet timid female persona. She knew she had to be strong and stood up to the rather huge Leo Class cyborg. It was a turning point for me in the story. It was entertaining how she proved herself to Lyon and his crew, making a place for herself in his heart and the whole cyborg community. I was captivated by this story. I hope Ms. Carter continues writing about these characters. The other crewmembers on Lyon's team were intriguing and very interesting. I can see promising futures for them and I hope I can come along for the ride. Ms. Carter writes exciting and enthralling science fiction. She had my heart dropping and soaring all within a few pages. She could easily write a full length novel and keep me totally engaged. Sci-fi is an untapped genre for me and Ms. Carter has my piqued my interest and curiosity. In my opinion, the mark of a great author is one that hooks me and pulls me along on an amazing page turning ride, which is what I found with Mina Carter. Originally posted at Whipped Cream Reviews

This was a great romance and a great science fiction story. There were a lot of elements to put together a really complete idea of the future they are in. The cyborgs are in revolt against the humans and the humans managed to catch a high-ranking cyborg. If you want to know that story, read Her Empath, also a great book, but about completely different types of characters. The hero is super strong and smart and has access to all sorts of data. He is a crew of 3 cyborgs who he knows will try to rescue him. The heroine is a human nurse and she treats him after he has been beaten up by his guards. She is very attracted to him, and gets distracted, but it works out that he gets loose from his cuffs after she treats him. I really liked the hero, heroine and his crew mates. There was come great dialog, some of it quite funny. We have sexy times, a surprising rescue, more sexy times, possible betrayal and another surprising rescue. This is a remarkably action packed story for so few pages. It was great.

Very light and crude erotic. I was looking for more detail in this scifi. I expected it to be romance and not hard languaged erotica (which is a big turn off) however it is a hot read. Im sad i paid 6 bucks for this though. I expected more of a tension build up and not acceptance and lots of sex right away. The ship against ship scene was great though.
