The memoir, Mafia Ministry A Crying Shame, was a very eye opening read for me.  It told the inside story of the physical, emotional, financial and spiritual abuse that Cheryl Brown endured while working as a house keeper for Benny Hinn Ministries.  How disheartening it is to know that this "Godly" Ministry abuses its workers and dishonors God in so many ways.  I commend Cheryl Brown for her courage to share her horrific story.   I pray for healing for her and her son.

Mafia Ministry a Crying Shame is an autobiography written by author Cheryl Brown. The book is a candid no holds barred account of how spiritual leaders exploit and intimidate their members in the name of ministry. The book delves deeply into the brainwashing and intimidation tactics used by those designated as spiritual guides and their loyal minions to exploit and abuse those that they view as vulnerable. The book chronicles the attempted destruction of and the ultimate triumph of the author over abuse, manipulation, lies and outright exploitation. It shows the dark underbelly of the inner workings of organized religion purported to help and not hurt their own. The author whom I had the pleasure of meeting in person at her book signing and her son show the true resiliency of the human spirit. With all of the negative experiences that the author has endured at the hands of various “men of the cloth”, she has not let it destroy her or break her faith. This book is an excellent read for anyone in the ministry weather you are struggling with a “situation” or not. I strongly recommend that you purchase a copy and experience the author’s journey for yourself. Kudos Cheryl Brown.

Mafia Ministry is a great read. It's more than just a story of a woman being abused by a pastor. It forces you to to scrutinize your own intentions as you walk the "Christian" path. I cried, I laughed, I was angry, I cussed, and I reformed. Huge impact in a small book. I eagerly await book 2. I would love to hear the victory story over this awful tragedy. I commend the writer for being strong and tenacious enough to share. I can only imagine the resistance and attack she is facing for telling the truth. She and others are in my prayers.

I met the author by chance and read the book. Wow, am I glad I did! This was a total page turner, I couldn't put it down. Her struggles are ones that so many people might fall into- and she has the courage to put it all out there in the hopes that someone else might be saved. Girl got moxi! This is so worth the read, I recommend it for everyone!

I bought and read book, Mafia Ministry. I commend Cheryl Brown for her courage to take a stand against this false shepherd and his “ministry”. It is tragic that so many people are deceived and are being led astray by this man. There is nothing redeeming or godly about his ministry, or he and his wife’s actions. It’s disgusting and appalling! I praise God He led Cheryl OUT of there and AWAY from Benny Hinn Ministries. Shame on all those who could have, and should have, helped her and held the others accountable, but did not. Shame on them for saying she would be cursed if she spoke out about this wolf in sheep’s clothing. This is a powerful story of clergy gone astray and I recommend everyone read it and be informed.

Cheryl Brown writes a sincere and fascinating memoire of her experience working as a housekeeper for Benny Hinn. The book follows her journey from Chicago to Orange County, CA and exposes the fraud and abuse that she witnessed and experienced first hand. I was not familiar with BHM but I still found her story credible and at times very sad. This book is a must read, I couldn't put it down!

This book is very sad and helped me realize that women go through things all the time. It was sad to know a woman wanted to seek GOD so badly to the point that ministers took advantage of her situation and caused hurt and pain in her life. You have to read her story to further understand. It is an easy read along with humor. This woman was walked over, abused but yet she managed to survive all that she went through. I don't know about you but this book is a must read. It is an eye opener to all the women out there. I could never tell my story as she did. Man go get your copy today. TRADGIC! SAD! SHAME! HURT! this book says stop allowing people to abuse us and our children that have power of authority in the church. YOu love yourself , your children then this book is for you learn fromothers mistakes...

The story is about a woman who endured a very turbulent life of abuse before she came to know Christ. She began to heal emotionally just to suffer even greater abuse by the hand of many ministy leaders who seemingly lost sight of God's purpose. The story gave a very vivid glimpse of her life of agony and revealed the truth that abuse is a reality for many people in the church world. Her story is credible as evidenced by her personal photographs and documents that are illustrated in the book. Her testimony is that her love for God and God's unfailing love for her is greater than all that she could ever suffer. Now that she has unmasked the truth she can now truly forgive and continue to heal. Though the story was unfortunate, it concluded in her victory. I encourage Cheryl to write another book as a testimony to show all that we have power over the devil and that his plans to destroy God's people will not prosper-

Cheryl Brown has written a book that took a lot of courage to write. Her words obviously flow directly from her heart to the keyboard and tell a story that has needed telling for a long time. Since the first time I saw Benny Hinn I thought he was a con man and a shuck and jive artist as I would any other so called "man of God" who finds it necessary to surround themselves with the trappings of worldly things; ie: Rolex watches and Mercedes Benz cars. What Cheryl demonstrates is that this love of things is much stronger than the love of people that they profess to care about. By revealing how Benny Hinn treats the hired help, she shows that Benny Hinn certainly is not guided by the spirit of modern day evangelism as characterized in the catch-phrase, "WWJD?" Frankly, it's obvious after reading Cheryl's book that Benny Hinn, and all of those around him, don't really care what Jesus would do, and had they lived in his day and age they would more likely be huddled up with the Sanhedrin plotting how to get rid of the troublemaking hippie rather than concerning themselves with the least among us as preached by the Son of God. I remember Benny appearing on the Larry King Show justifying his Rolex watches and trendy wardrobe and I thought at the time, this man is not here to spread the Gospel, he is here to make a mint. The crying shame in all this is that Benny Hinn and those around him needed to be smacked upside the head but instead they take advantage of desperate people looking for a little hope in a sea of despair. God Bless Cheryl Brown for picking up the torch and exposing spiritual wickedness in high places.

Interesting read! The author's openess and honesty is enlightening...this proves that leaders in ministry are human too. This book gives an up close and personal look at how a particular leader in ministry dishonored God by allowing his own huge Ego to rule, therefore allowing a gross lack of compassion...definitely not this pastor's finest moment...how sad...Thank God for Repentence,Mercy and Forgiveness.I wholeheartedly believe that most leaders in ministry honor God by letting their hearts lead them and Not Ego...however the leaders in ministry that let their big Egos get in the way make it more challenging for the good leaders to win souls to Christ! This book increases awareness of the abuse of power in ministry that Exists in the world today...Let's continue to pray for all Leaders in Ministry!I recommend this to spiritually mature audiences.
