Children's LiteratureThis is a delightfully, entertaining book that uses the alphabet and the National Park system to encourage the reader to learn about some wonderful places. From A is for Acadia to Z is for Zion, the descriptions and illustrations of the various parks give great information. Living in the Western United States, I have been fortunate to visit several parks, but I realized after reading this book, that I had best pick up the pace, as I still have many more to visit. Typical animals, plants, birds and flora of the parks are discussed and illustrated. Families could use this as a tool for planning trips that would include a few parks along the way. A United States map pinpoints all the fifty parks and gives the reader a good overview. 2003, Sleeping Bear Press, Ages 3 to 10.
