While Nema has long been respected for her work in some circles, I fail to see what is so special about this book. Having read it, put it down and then re-read it, I still find little unique insight gained from it and little substance found. While the system described may be of use, it is either strictly for the beginner or predisposing familiarity with Thelema. I imagine that experienced readers, familiar with Thelema will in turn find that this book has too little too add. It's sad to say, but I think this book misses its audience by attempting too broad an aim. Nema has the experience to write books both for the more experienced reader and the beginner, but to attempt to combine both in a hip and fine-looking handbook that can be used by all is perhaps misguided. Don't buy this if you have a quick interest in finding a few 'spells' to secure a date or a new job, as the book is not bad enough to be full of such junk. That the book -is- a little too 'fluffy' is my personal view, but it is not quite in the trash category of occult litterature, though I do feel disappointed by this purchase. On the other hand, don't buy this and think it will bring you 'illumination' in an instant. Buy it if you feel curious or if you like the cover, but don't expect too much.
