Overview

Stylish, picture-perfect, and delicious, macarons are the ultimate in pretty sweet treats. Adaptable to any color scheme or flavoring, these delicate little fancies make the perfect gift or centerpiece for a smart afternoon tea. This gorgeous new book by baking queen, Annie Rigg, gives you step-by-step instructions on how to master the basic macaron recipe so that you always get a crisp exterior, chewy cookie, and flavorful filling. Annie also supplies the most popular flavor combinations before providing recipes for both traditional, unexpected, and mouthwatering options. Flavors include salted caramel, pistachio, lemon, cappuccino, cherry and chocolate, malted milk chocolate, and raspberry and passion fruit.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
With a sweetly modern style, this attractive book showcases Rigg's (Fabulous Brownies) sense of playfulness with enticingly unorthodox flavors (chocolate and malted milk with coffee filling), shapes (ladyfingers stuffed with fresh blueberries), and color combinations designed to inspire. The simplicity that makes the book so picturesque also limits its audience. No explanations are provided for advanced techniques or specialty ingredients. The written instructions, though clear and with conversions to American measurements, are minimal, and unlike José Maréchal's Irresistible Macroons and Bérengère Abraham's Macarons, this book does not include images of each step. For experienced bakers only.—Audrey Barbakoff, Milwaukee P.L.
