Dahlings, this was a fun read. How delightful to read about romance mixed in with a few fun-loving ghosts. Although the author seems to use a lot of the same phrases, the book was still very enjoyable. A friend recommended this author to me and I will definitely be reading more of her works.

I decided to try out Cindy Miles books while searching for something to read on this site. 'Into thin air' was the first one I read and I found it to be a delightful read. McGowan's ghost is about a young lady who, after an accident can see ghosts. She is hired by a man who owns a pub in Scottland to come and erradicate his ghosts who are chasing away his prospective buyers for his pub. It is a great read if you like your books with a bit of humor. Miles has a great sense of humor and it is reflected in her books.

I was lucky to catch this author's first novel, and I've looked for each new release since! This latest is set in Scotland at a local inn and has a quirky cast of characters, including several ghostly ones, that you just can't help but like. This plot was a little different from previous ones; but even so, we readers still got our dose of romance and intrigue.

"MacGowan's Ghost" is my fourth read by Cindy Miles. Her books are quirky...a mix of PG-rated romance, ghost story, and mystery. The fact that I continue to read, even without hot sex, should tell you that there's something about her tales that touches me. And the sexy, handsome Alpha males certainly don't hurt either. She writes an excellent Alpha who manages to find tenderness for his woman...and aren't we all suckers for that?

Allie's a ghost buster. Of course, she really hates that term because what she does is assist spirits with their problems and issues which in turn enables them to either move on, or just move to a different location. The problem isn't truly with the ghosts, it's with the humans who can't see or hear them and just want them gone. But when Allie gets a chance to do some 'business' in Scotland, she's excited that she'll finally get a chance to visit a place she's dreamed about seeing. And when she arrives at Odin's Thumb, a verra haunted pub in a picturesque Scottish seaside village with a verra sexy owner, she discovers the most intriguing and difficult 'case' of her life.

Gabe grew up seeing, and playing with, his ghostly friends. His village and pub are fairly famous in the highlands as the ghosts are acknowledged and welcomed by the entire village! But when Gabe begins to have nightmares about his dead wife, he decides to sell the pub and relocate with his son. Unfortunately, the resident 'ghosties' don't want him to leave...so they are putting on quite a show for every prospective buyer. In desperation, he calls on Allie for help. Of course, once she arrives he discovers she's nothing like he imagined...and everything he could dream of. But the ghost of his late wife has no intention of letting Gabe be happy, and she'll do whatever she can to put a halt to Gabe's growing happiness.

There's really a lot more going on than I can explain in a short review. The interaction between the ghosts and Allie, and the ghosts and pretty much anybody, are so hilarious without being slapstick. The author's bio states that as a trauma nurse she's seen many a near death experience and her belief in things unseen comes through in her writing. At one point Allie states something along the lines of ghosts being real people with real feelings, just without a solid body. I found that a different take and that attitude makes Miles' writing special...at least to me.

My only beef with her books is the PG rating...of course that could be because I'm a dirty old lady who relishes a steamy sex scene. But even though I know the consummation will only come at the very end, I'm still impressed with the sexual tension that pervades encounters between the hero and heroine in her books. And I always come to feel for her characters and root for them to find a way to be together.

All this just to say that I enjoy Cindy Miles' books, even with the PG-rating. I'll continue to buy them, but I'll certainly follow them up with something a little steamier!

Another wonderful addition to Cindy Miles' books. A fast paced story that keeps you reading. Entertaining ghosts that keep you laughing and great lead charactors. One of my favorite authors.

Allie Morgan is a for hire ghostbuster who is proud of liberating spirits so that they can move on. Her current client takes her from the States, her last job being in Raleigh, to the Northwest coast of Scotland. Odin's Thumb Inn and Pub is loaded with irritating ghosts.

However this assignment in Sealladh na Mara is different than any she previously performed. She quickly learns that every resident can communicate with the ghosts, which makes her realize she is not as unique as she thought, but also wonders why her customer the pub owner Gabe MacGowan needs an outsider like her; to do so he must sell the pub; to sell the pub he must rid it of its otherworldly infestation including his late wife. Neither Jake nor the ghosts want to leave their home, so they have teamed up to drive potential buyers away. However, Allie is attracted to the gloomy Gabe and likes his sons and the lively spirits so instead of driving them out, she joins their side hoping to understand what is disturbing her client¿s soul.

This is a fun paranormal romance starring a likable heroine, a Grinch of a male lead, and a fine cast of ghosts who play matchmaker along with his son. The story line is lighthearted fun while also digging deep into relationships even with those beyond the grave; especially Gabe¿s late wife. Fans will enjoy this enchanting romantic fantasy.
