What can I say. I love this family from start to finish. Zane's story lives up to the family's heritage. Zane is strong, honorable, sexy and thankfully persistent. Barrie is a good match for him in every way.
Note: all the stories in this series are able to stand on their own. As the family is the center of the series if you start at the beginning, the story is enriched with the history of which it all flows

I grow more impressed with each Linda Howard novel I read, and this installment of her Mackenzie family series is definitely top-notch. I may be alone in my opinions of contemporary romances, but I just can't get wrapped up in stories that laud promiscuous heroines or females who are indiscriminate about their sexual partners. So I'm always delighted that Howard's characters don't isolate their emotions from their physical intimacies, and this book is a prime example of sex being an act of love, not simply a physical activity.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a book/author willing to delve into love's messy and infinitely intriguing emotions. Mackenzie's Pleasure's heroine says it all: "True lovemaking is deep and elemental." And so is this story.
