    Fantastic Book !

I have a lot of macrame books, and this one (which was translated from the Japanese publication), I will say, is probably the best....yes, even better than "The Macrame Book" by Helene Bress, I did not think it possible to "out do" the Bress book, but this one does, in my opinion. Loaded with patterns, design-inspiring photos (in color), and clear, well done instructions and directions....It brings you closer to a more contemporary macrame "bible" .....Now, the photography is very well done, with one exception....the exception violates all graphic design "rules"....I am actually surprised the editor/publisher didn't catch this and/or make changes. I think it's in chapter 2 (sorry, don't have it in front of me) that the photographs are done on a very "busy" background.....this background is SO inappropriate that you truly cannot see the macrame pieces due to this "competition" of background images.....the background of the photos nearly totally obscures the macrame pieces and that really spoils that whole chapter. Thankfully, they didn't carry that background through into the directions, and it is only one chapter of bad design.....that is my one and only complaint about this book (the reason for only 4 stars)....otherwise, it is truly a "must have" for any macrame lover's library.
