No One Does it Better Kresley Cole makes me want to read. From the time I open the cover I am immersed in the journey with the storyline and characters drawing you in as though you are there inside the pages experiencing each and every emotion and adventure with them. Uilleam MacRieve or Will to his family has lost and mourned much over his centuries but he seems to be finally putting his demons to rest and getting right with himself. That is until he is targeted again Uilleam is captured and brutally tortured at the hand of the Order. Now his thirst for blood and need for revenges has all but consumes him. Chloe Todd is your average twenty four year old she plays soccer on the weekends and has a father that loves her, so why do thing seem not quite the same anymore. Chloe is noticing changes in both her and her father. In Chloe it is the physical changes, she no longer needs to eat as much and she needs little sleep yet she has ample energy to sustain her day, with her father it more personal he is becoming secretive and distant. When Chloe finally confronts her father his only response is to say he though she was clear and with that he hands Chloe a book and tells her to read it, then he is gone. Chloe is confused and disoriented when she is taken from her home and awakens to find herself at the site of what seems to be an auction, HERS. Chloe quickly realises that what she thought were tales or myths from a book her father gave her is actually truth, but how did he know and why does it seem they have taken her because of him?. When Uilleam learns the witches have taken someone connected with his kidnapper both his twin brother Munro and him immediately leave to find what information they can about the man he seeks retribution from. Uilleam scents something as he draws nearer to the site and so does his twin Munro. Uilleam scents his mate, Munro scents his sister, with that desperation soon take over and they know they need to save the human girl before she is raped and tortured to find the location of the man that is torturing their kind. It doesn't take Uilleam long to know she is unaware of what her father has done and his need to protect and claim her is strong. As Chloe and Uilleam draw closer the past is about to come back to threaten everything they both need. Will Chloe accept was she is about to face and can Uilleam reopen the wounds of old to finally move forward and heal before it is too late? MacRieve was one I had been waiting for and I would say that it was better than I could have imagined but I don't guess anymore I just wait anxiously for each new release date for this series by Kresley Cole because it is ALWAYS better than I could have imagined. Oh how I love this series! I wish could could publish a book a month! There are so many characters that we fans are anticipating. MacRieve's story is just as excellent as the rest. Like another reviewer mentioned, it plays with so many emotions at once. I love Kresley's heroins. They aren't weak and timid..they are tough as snails and give these men a run for their money. MacRieve's story involves many of the old characters we have come to love from previous books. The story also continues developing on the overal theme of the Accession that is coming. Many old questions are anwered in this book. Many new questions of what the future holds . I LOVE this series! To "Book Monster Reviews"...please learn what a book review is all about. Your "review" gave 95% of the plot line away. I personaly love spoilers, but for other readers who read your "review" you may have totally ruined those special moments in a story where the reader has to pause and take in the suprise elements that occur in a story. Shame on you.

Loved this book. Wonderful, heartbreaking, funny, and complicated. Highly recommend. Great addition to the series. Chloe is an exceptional heroine. Will is traumatized by his past, but Cole handles it expertly.

The guy on the cover of this book is creepy...not sexy at all. It seriously distracted me from getting into his character. I felt the same way about the book on Lothaire but thank god his pic was changed. Anyways, I love all her books so it.s not fair to give a bad review due to the front cover....but stilll

Summary Uilleam MacRieve, is over nine hundred years old, and he still doesn’t have a lifemate. His family suffered a great loss, due to a mistake he made as a teenage boy, and now there is only his twin and Macrieve left. His twin is all he has, but when he is captured, and tortured, his life changes. He doesn’t believe that he is redeemable and that there is no good left in him. But then he feels the call of his mate, and he knows he has to live for her. Chloe Todd, is driven, and is working toward playing in the Olympics. She plays on a professional team, and she has everything going for her. She has dedicated her whole life to soccer. But then her father comes to her, acts strangely, and leaves. She then finds herself kidnapped by witches, who want to auction her off to the highest bidder. She never imagined paranormal creatures existed, but her father is their enemy, and she is the key to destroying them. But then she is rescued by Macrieve, who is gentle and charming and tells her they are mates. She never thought she would be brought into a world of vampires, witches and shifters. But there is a key to her past that Choloe doesn’t know, and when all is revealed it could ruin any future she has with Macrieve. The Hero Uilleam MacRieve, once made a dreadful mistake. A mistake that cost him his family. As a teenager, he thought he had found his mate, but it was a succubus, who made him believe in a love that wasn’t there. He was only a boy when she seduced him, and then enthralled him. When his family found out the truth, he loses both parents and an unborn sister. Now all that is left is Monroe and himself. Macrieve blames himself, even hundreds of years later. Macrieve, is the tortured hero you just feel drawn to. He is like a magnet in the story, and from the very beginning, my heart broke for him. He hasn’t had it easy, but neither has his twin. Macrieve was such a good hero, even if he was a pain at times. But he had a certain complexity that was compelling, he isn’t a simple drawn hero. He has many depths, and it was an adventure seeing Macrieve grow into his character (despite how old he is), and boy did I want to share a bed with that man. He can turn on the heat like none other. His strength of will is powerful and after all he has suffered, he can still prove himself on each page. The Heroine Chloe Todd, was a truly magnifiscent heroine, but I am not surprised with Kresley Cole writing her character. I don’t think I have read a book of hers, where I didn’t like the heroine. Chloe is driven, passionate, and accepting. She is not one of those that goes into denial about her true identity or her change in circumstances, which sometimes happens in paranormal romances. When Chloe learns about paranormal creatures, she doesn’t put her mind in denial, she accepts things as she views them. She is determined to succeed in her dreams, and that is to play soccer. She has worked her whole life for it. She has a quality to her character that the reader is always cheering for. I loved her wit and playfulness and readiness for anything that came her way. Plot and Story Line Macrieve is the 13th installment in the series. I still can’t believe how much this series has grown and developed. I remember when the first books came out, and there was just vampires and such. Now it has expanded to so much more with each book. I do need to catch up on the series, but I felt like reading this, I wasn’t totally lost. Which is good since it is the later half of the series. What was impressive about this story was the emotions it conveys to the reader. I felt like I was all over the place, from laughing my head off, to tingling in certain parts of my body, at the edge of my seat in suspense and totally in tears. It definitely wrenched quite a bit out of me, and even though it’s not my favorite book of the series, I really had a jolly good time with it. I will say that the heroine impressed me way more than the hero. Now the hero has some major unresolved issues that causes a negative….way negative impact on his relationship with Chloe. I felt like he was such a jerk at times, especially when he learns the truth about her, a truth she had no knowledge of. But even though I felt like he could have treated her better, I also felt a mixed array of feeling over his character…because his character is about human nature. What drives us, what causes us pain and suffering and what can give us joy in life. You see the battle in himself and Cole is such a talented author in conveying that war and showing his true self even though there are parts that aren’t pretty. But they are true to who he is. The setting itself is pretty great, I mean we have this whole “in danger” aspect, and everyone is on edge. And you feel that tension in the story. One of the other aspects I loved was how unpredictable this story was. When I thought I had guessed what was going to happen next, I was blown away in the next chapter. This story definitely was full of some thrilling twists and turns that keeps you guessing. As I look at my reading experience of this story, I will say that the ending definitely is superb, as far as how things end for the couple, but it does leave a cliffhanger of sorts…which makes me hungry for more… Cover I actually adore this cover. The eyes are at the center and make the cover great. I love the intense stare, and that hair, it gives off the dangerous vibe of the story. Overall View Macrieve a another great thrilling addition to the series, a story of danger, intense romance, dramatic characterizations, stunning detail and a story to tie you up in knots. One HELL of an adventure!!
