Here to take the fear factor out of learning it are Flash veterans and best-selling authors Derek Franklin and Jobe Makar, who demonstrate that scripting is an instinctual process you already know by translating real-life activities into ActionScript scripts. In these pages, you'll find methodologies and techniques for building over 40 real-life Flash ActionScript projects, including sample games, —- applications, Web sites, and more. New in this edition are coverage of ActionScript 2.0, Web services, Components, Printing, Video, and more. On the companion CD, you'll find all the project files and images you need to complete each project.

    Best Flash Book to date!

This book cuts to the chase and gets right into the thick of it all. Real examples and tutorials in every chapter help to reinforce the information you are learning. Has definitely heightened my awareness and understanding of what I can do and how with Flash MX 2004.

*the* book to buy for programming in ActionScript

This is an excellent book. I've been programming in Flash 2004 MX ActionScript for a couple months, struggling with the online documentation and an assortment of other resources. Though I've managed a lot that way, I still learned quite a bit, clarifying my understanding, from chapter 1 of this book. The wealth of provided examples, thorough and beautifully crafted, should see me through quite a lot of looking up 'Now, how do I do...' types of questions.
