The authors patiently guide the new user through the basics of flash (properties, drawings, timelines, tweens, etc.) with reasonable detail but lacking explanation of why one might choose between different methods or techniques. When you get to the important (or good) stuff such as interactivity and action script, inserting movies, inserting video, using music, etc. the book jams twice the complexity of any of the first 13 chapters into three or four gloss over chapters.
