Overview

I had gone to high school with Gabriel Gordon. Despite his heavenly name and matching beauty, Gabriel was anything but angelic. Rich, spoiled, and far too cynical for his age, he could easily charm the skirt off a prim beauty or a young teacher or two. Gabriel Gordon was mad, bad, and ...well, you probably know the rest.

The years hadn't changed him, despite taking over his father's company and expanding it into a multinational corporation. Unfortunately, it was just my luck that I found myself working in Gabriel's building. Although I had managed to avoid him for the better part of a month, a chance encounter in the elevator proved he was still an arrogant man who showed far too much interest in the shape of my mouth and nape of my neck.

From then on, Gabriel bedeviled me, teased me, and more often than not, made me want to throw things at his head. Still, just as in high school, I couldn't help but see the pain behind his lazy grin and the shadows in his crystalline gaze. When Gabriel confessed his love for me, I should have been the happiest woman in the world. Too bad I couldn't believe him...

Emma Adams had always considered herself level-headed, even-tempered, and most of all, sane. So how did she become someone who couldn't seem to push Gabriel Gordon away? No matter how sweet his words could be or how easily passion exploded between them, getting involved with the outrageously wealthy playboy had to be the height of insanity. Given their tumultuous natures and personal demons, there was only way a relationship between them could survive: in madness.
________

Book I in the "Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Love" series. Approximately 54,500 words or 218 pages.

EXCERPT:
“I didn’t ignore you.” Gabriel lifted my hands and brushed a kiss across my knuckles. “I was so stunned by your beauty that I honestly didn’t know how to react.”

My insides turned to jelly. “Stunned by my beauty? Really, Gabriel? That sounds so…”

“So what?”

“So unlike you. It sounds pretty lame actually.”

“God, you’re so mean!”

We laughed together, relief running clear through.

“I was shy, Emma. I knew my mother would grill the girls about you and I didn’t want them to report that I dragged you to the floor and made love to you right then and there.”

“Okay, now it’s my turn to call you a liar.”

Gabriel’s feral expression silenced my doubts. “Do you want me to prove it now?” He released my hands and leaned closer. “Because I’d like nothing better than to show you how much I mean those words, Emma.”

His mouth hovered over mine, tempting and daring me to take him up on his offer. I already knew what he tasted like, what his tongue felt like thrusting in my mouth. It was so sweet…

“What about the fundraiser? I mean, aren’t they expecting you?” My lips brushed light as a feather across his.

Gabriel closed his eyes and exhaled. “They are as a matter of fact. Fuck me…”

'Definitely! Just name the time and the place!'

I licked the corner of his mouth and moaned loudly. I shouldn’t have said anything. I should’ve let him kiss me and maybe more. Gabriel’s breathing quickened as if he heard my thoughts. When he opened his eyes, I trembled from the raw hunger blazing from within his electric blue gaze.

“Promise you won’t run away from me tonight.”

“Why would I—”

Gabriel palmed my chin, fingers pressing lightly into my powdered cheeks. “Promise me, Emma. No running away. Not in thought or deed. Promise.”

“I promise.”

“If you try to leave, I’ll stop you. If you slip out, I’ll chase you. I’m not going to let you run away from me. Ever again.”

I should’ve been disturbed by his passion. I wasn’t. It thrilled me.

His hard body didn’t relax. I felt the restraint as his elegant hand traced across the side of my face. “I can be what you want me to be, Emma. Just know that everything I do tonight is for you. So trust me for a little bit. Just look at me like a normal man. Please.”

Gabriel’s plea humbled me. I reached out, needing to touch him. My fingers sunk into his wide shoulders. “All right.”

“Thank you,” he whispered as he pulled me to him in a bone-crushing hug. I hugged him back just as tightly. I didn’t want to leave the safety and security of his arms. I wanted to stay wrapped up in Gabriel forever.

'Slow down. You’re falling too fast.'

    Ridiculous (and deleted!)

This was just pure drivel. The dialog between the two made them sound like they were in the 1800's. SO bad. I did not, and will not finish. I will however, delete immediately from my library.

    Absolutely loved this book.

I was riveted from the moment I opened this book. I feel as though I know Emma intimately and I absolutely cannot wait to see how her relationship with Gabriel will blossom. I feel invested in these characters. I read a lot of books... so many that my husband curses the day he bought my Nook. Although I enjoy what I read, I don't often feel such a connection with the storylines or the characters. This had me immediately hooked and entraced. Can't wait to read more from this author.

I don't understand the good reviews of this book. Nothing happen

I don't understand the good reviews of this book. Nothing happens between the couple until the last page of the book, not even a kiss. It was a poor copy of fifty shades and crossfire series, the building owner where she works and the Dom, but they didn't exchange not even a kiss. I won't buy the next book.

    Cannot recommend

From the first chapter it didn't work it but kept thinking it might get better. It didn't. The way it bounced from present to past was done in a confusing manner. Neither character had anything to offer. Skip

    Could not even finish

So disappointing. Should have paid attention to the reviews! No plot, no charachter development, the whole book was dialog, careless typos, total flatliner.

I read through to page 247.....and had to quit....it needs a story, what is the point?

    UGH?

    Overall a good read....

Overall this was a good book. The only real problem with it was it did seem to jump all over the place. Like when Gabriel said they were going to spend the weekend together and then it jumped straight to Monday for lunch. You read a couple paragraphs and it skips back to what they did over the weekend. Why not just write it in order? That's just my opinion. That's just one example. I don't want to give away anything in the book so I'll stop there. There were alot of editing errors(words omitted, spelling mistakes, etc). But again I really enjoyed it and can't wait to start on book 2.
