When I was growing up, Mad Mag was a big deal. I loved spy vs spy and the fold in page. My friends and I could hardly wait for each new issue. I was excited to find the very first issue, free for nook. I had never read it. Oh My! After perusing issue one, I can honestly say, I wonder how it has lasted so long and became such a hit? Mad Mag....you have come a long way since the first magazine and have only gotten better, because you could not have gotten much worse. Thanks for the memories. ( and I still like the mags.) AD AD

Interesting as a historical artifact, the first issue of Mad Magazine, but really not very good. Nothing like what the magazine ended up becoming.

A lot shorter than the magazine! It only had 3 comics. Very disappointing!

Although it was a first issue, I found it completely uninteresting. I suppose with it, at the time, just coming out they were a bit in a hurry to see how the issue would fare before offering up more funnier issues.

It's great that Barnes & Noble was giving this away, but I was disappointed to discover that it is unreadable on my NOOK Simple Touch.
