    A Thoroughly Enjoyable, Entertaining Read

As difficult as it may be to believe, chickens and cockroaches once lived in peaceful coexistence. In fact, in the case of Madame Poulet and Monsieur Roach, the two were the very best of friends, even sharing a home together. Things started to go sour, though, when Monsieur Roach - one of the laziest bugs around - began faking like he was sick in order to avoid going out with Madame Poulet in order to forage for their food. While she's away, Monsieur Roach invites all his cockroach friends over, and everyone has the time of their lives - that is, until Madame Poulet comes home early and learns of her friend's deception, the results of which leave Monsieur Roach wishing he really were sick after all...

Madame Poulet And Monsieur Roach is a thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining read. Accompanied by rich illustrations, author Diane de Las Casas' retelling of an authentic Louisiana folk tale is brought to vivid life in the pages of a brief but impressive narrative. With a genuine vivacity that leaps off the page, Madame Poulet And Monsieur Roach belongs in the hands of young readers worldwide. Highly recommended.
