I bought this magazine off a magazine rack at Walmart, when I got home I read it all the way through. I loved it. I am 77 years old and I wish this magazine was around when I was a young girl. The night I bought it I got on the Discover Girls web site and ordered a subscription for my 10 year old Great Grand-aughter, she loves it also. I have told her that I will renew for another 2 years and for as long as she wants it. Make a young lady happy, get it for your girl .....They also have some books which I a got for her, she loves them also. This magazine and the books help girls understand and helps them work through problems, that all girls experience sooner or later. The magazine has fun times, crafts an much more.

There's no magazine like it. The unique thing about the magazine is that it selects subscribers, based on their answers to a questionnaire, to be the models and come up with a large amount of the content used in the magazines. I used to read these when I was growing up and I really believe that seeing "normal" girls on the cover and reading about other tweens who were having the same problems as myself is a large part of why I never had any body image issues growing up (and still don't now). I am very glad this magazine was around to show me that I didn't need to be like the girls on teen vogue or girls life.

Content is appropriate for my 10 year old - my daughter's favorites are the quizzes, Embarrassing Moments, and regular features. There isn't a lot of pushy advertising or inappropriate celebrity features. I'll keep getting this as long as my daughter wants it!
