Maggie
by Mary V. Banks
It is the year 2020. NASA has discovered a sudden oncoming meteor that will hit Mars within six days from first speed measure. A group of three astronauts—Randy, Gerald, and Samuel— are sent onboard Missioner 110 to record the meteor’s impact to the fiery planet.

As the countdown closes, the meteor with a blue-green flaring tail, called “Maggie,” crashes straight to the planet. Contrary to primary predictions, however, Maggie bounces off Mars, barely scratching the red planet.

It is momentous to see Maggie and the strange impact it makes in Mars…until the astronauts see the meteor heading for Earth.

Relinquishing several parts of America, Maggie has covered Earth with a blue-green haze for a couple of breathtaking minutes. More than a thousand people are put into sleep, awakened only by a special crystal and awakened with superhuman abilities like telepathy and telekinesis.

But as the infamous quote says, “with great power comes great responsibility,” and there is a mystery that Ruth, Randy’s wife, and one of the awakened Maggie syndrome patients must face.

A secret unfolds and a fight for existence begins.
