All markets follow cycles lasting between 7 and 10 years. Each cycle begins with a recession and peaks in a market boom before collapsing back to recession. Overview

All markets follow cycles lasting between 7 and 10 years. Each cycle begins with a recession and peaks in a market boom before collapsing back to recession. Dr. Field has tested hundreds of economic indicators and discovered the 8 most reliable indicators for determining and predicting the economic cycle. These indicators are combined into a Master Indicator which has successfully predicted the last 5 market cycles. The indicator forecast recession in October, 2007, and accurately called the market bottom on April 1, 2009. Each of the 10 stages of the economic cycle are described in detail and specific recommendations are made of what sectors of the stock and commodity market should be bought, sold or shorted for maximum potential profit.
The Magic 8 describes each of the 8 key indicators in straightforward terms, explains what it is, where to find it and why it works. The vital levels for each indicator are listed. The reader need only look up the indicator on-line and then determine its key 'value' from the table provided for each of the 8 indicators.

The 8 indicator values are then combined into a single Master Indicator by means of a simple arithmetic computation producing a number ranging from 1 to 10. The result is looked up in a table and the buy, sell and hold recommendations appear, just like in the Magic Eight Ball!
Using this method, an investor can make millions in the stock market with controlled risk. The investor will gain confidence from the knowledge the indicators have worked successfully in ALL past economic cycles.
This is NOT a buy and hold strategy. Nor is it for day traders. The methodology focuses on medium term positions on both the long and short sides of the stock and commodity markets (copper, lumber, crude oil, gold and T-Bonds).
The book is clearly written and easy to understand and follow.

Readers will also receive an Excel spreadsheet from Dr. Field with a complete listing of all 8 indicators to permit immediate use of the book's method.

Start making millions of dollars in the markets!!!

Editorial Reviews

Fred Goodman
All right, I admit it, even though I have spent decades studying technical analysis, I have had several sojourns into fundamentals. I've read a score of books on market analysis, value investing, earnings and books about economic indicators, but until I found Arthur Field's The Magic 8: The 8 Key Indicators to Make Millions in the Markets -- which in my opinion is required reading -- I could not get into it. Dr. Field makes economic cycles easy to understand and evaluate. His methods work!

Phenomenal Book. Worth every penny! Best forecasting tool.

Purchased this book privately in March, 2009. It is fantastic. Clearly and simply written and easy to understand. Field has set out 8 readily available indicators which update monthly. I had no trouble following his methods or logic. The indicators each produce a rating from 1 to 10, which is then combined to make a master level. You look that up on his table and the book tells you what stage of the economic cycle you are going into and what assets (stocks, bonds, commodities) to buy, hold, sell or short. It is amazing. Using the book, I called the bottom in April, 2009 and started buying stocks. Did real well. Bought copper and have a huge profit. I HIGHLY recommend this book. It is well worth the investment. Field's credentials are top notch and this book really delivers. I only wish he had written it 10 years ago. It is the best forecasting tool I have found in 20 years of trading the markets. BUY IT NOW and avoid all the others.

    Dismal

This book promises to provide 8 indicators to make millions, but it does not even come close to delivering on the promise. The indicators listed, in fact, have nothing to do with technical analysis, but are the esoteric economic indicators relating to the overall economy. This book is definitely NOT recommended. A waste of money.
