This guide follows the Magic Lantern formula, and as such it does expand somewhat on the manual supplied with the camera, and does explain more than that manual.
However, I do not find it nearly as helpful as "David Busch's Pentax K200D Guide to Digital SLR Photography" by Busch and Bamberg, which is actually a comprehensive guide to the K200D, but also a general guide to DSLR photography.
Still, the Magic Lantern guide is far smaller, reasonable to carry along when travelling, which the "K200D Guide to Digital SLR Photography" is certainly not.
A nice little extra is the Magic Lantern's little shirt-pocket sized "Quick Reference Card", on weather-proof paper; it unfolds, so it actually has six credit card sized sides full of hints which can help when you haven't accessed a feature or adjustment for a while and can use help finding it.
I would recommend the Magic Lantern Guide to anyone who finds the "owners manual" difficult to use; the Magic Lantern guide is a similar size and easier to use. On the other hand, if you can live with the original manual for in-the-field reference, the "Guide to Digital SLR Photograpy" is much more comprehensive and helpful as a reference book on the K200D.
