Overview

Financial executive Susan Hettinger and wild, impulsive rock star MJ Carson couldn’t be more different if they tried—but opposites attract in ways neither can resist.

Rock star Maggie “MJ” Carson has heard a thousand I-Love-You’s. People always want something for nothing from her, and she long ago decided it was better to use than be used. On a plane trip from hell, she’s seated next to an attractive woman and turns on her irresistible charm, expecting the usual weak-kneed compliance.

But Susan doesn’t know who her sexy fellow traveler is and loses all interest once she finds out. The heat between them is instant, yet Susan can think of countless reasons to ignore the spark of attraction. She knows she should walk away, but when Maggie ends up stranded without her wallet and ID, she offers to help.

Completely incompatible, they still can’t resist the magic that draws them together. Can they find a place between the glare of the media spotlight and the legacy of past betrayals where trust can grow and love might have a chance?

Meet the Author

C. J. Harte was born in New York but lived in many places while growing up. After her family finally settled in the South, she attended college in the Deep South where she obtained her degrees as well as a significant Southern accent and a unrelenting sense of humor.

During her residence in the South, C. J. was a political activist while maintaining a full time job in health care. She edited a women's newspaper, wrote political editorials and satire, and was a speech writer for political candidates. She eventually climbed down the corporate ladder and moved out west, where she works in health care and continues to write from her Cheyenne home. She and her partner have homes on two continents since they live on opposite sides of the ocean much of the year.

When not working or writing, C.J. Harte is either commuting between continents or spending time with her four-footed friends in her beloved Wyoming, looking out at the mountains and blue sky.

    Magic of the moment

A good book about the music industry and the hardships one can face if you are not out of the closet. Althought they are opposite in personallites, they are the same in heart. MJ had to learn to trust her instincts and not let her handlers get in the way of her happiness with Susan and the children. The story also touches on why some people marry and have children trying to fit in and hide their true calling. Overall a very good story.
