Not Too Far Out There To Be Practical

I've been around a while, and I'm pretty omnivorous when it comes to works on magic; but I had not yet read anything by this Taylor Ellwood fellow, a name I would see popping up often enough that I recognized it. Looking around for something new, I started running down the list of Ellwood's publications. I came across Magick on The Edge and decided that an anthology would be a good place to start: I could get a feel for the author through his own writing, but also through the work he chose to include, and the author's he called friends and contemporaries. I knew I was taking a chance with something that billed itself as "experimental", but I was happy to find that the author's included here were more than competent magicians and their experiments were well in line with concepts and practices that I felt I could grasp as a 21st century magician. And not only did I get a nice feel for Mr Ellwood, I was introduced to other author's whose work I did not know. One of those, in particular, I must recommend: Andrieh Vitimus, and his book: Hands On Chaos Magic, to go along with Magick On The Edge. One is a little heavier on theory, and the other is all about doing. Between the two, you'll be plenty busy with your magic and hopefully learning quite a bit a long the way.
