Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Readers who are both familiar and unfamiliar with Ms. Frizzle, the Magic School Bus and the kids in her class will appreciate this early reader—A Level 2 book in the "Scholastic Reader" series. The dress Ms. Frizzle wears always gives a clue as to the adventure ahead and this one is covered with dinosaurs. The class is introduced on the opening page and the kids give reports about a variety of dinosaurs. As with the other books, notebook pages provide more factual information. The question of whether today's birds are the living relatives of dinosaurs has been pretty much resolved with discoveries of feathered dinosaurs—some of whom also flew. The Magic School Bus goes back in time to take a closer look at these dinosaurs and provides a chance for kids to learn more tongue-twisting names and plenty of facts. Fast forward to the present and the fossil hunters are digging up the remains of dinosaurs the class saw just as they escaped the eruption of a nearby volcano. This early reader is educational and fun. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot

    Great Series

My kids (3 and 5) love these books. They are the most requested books in the house and will keep them entertained for long periods of time. The information in the books is easily understood by my kids and I find them repeating the facts days later.

this is what I read over the summer

I read the Magic Schoolbus. It was terrible, not amusing, and the people looked like clay. The clothes looked pretty good though really weird style. I read these kinds books atom, lightning, body, plants, and water. Ce,
