Overview

A commentary on the Wishing Prayer for the Attainment of the Ultimate Mahamudra Given by his Holiness Rangjung Dorje (the Third Karmapa, 1284-1339)

Composed in Tibetan in the 14th century, this text is a "wishing prayer" in which the Third Karmapa shows the different possibilities of the mind. Whenever we look and whatever we do, everything happens in our mind. Mahamudra points directly to the mind: it is the state where the mind recognizes itself.

Starting with the Karmapa's blessing, maintaining a complete trust in the nature of mind, and adding to this the wish to be of use to all beings, those with the right karmic seeds will benefit from working with this text. Rangjung Dorje shows that our true essence is clear and limitless space, opening up our full potential for joy, compassion and trust.
