Overview

MAIL-ORDER BRIDES OF THE WEST is a new series created in collaboration by USA Today Bestselling Authors Debra Holland and Caroline Fyffe.

The well-educated daughter of a lawyer, Trudy Bauer arrives at the St. Louis based Mail-Order Brides of the West agency full of excitement for an adventure of a lifetime. She befriends the agency’s maid, Evie Davenport, and the two form a strong and lasting friendship. They vow to stay in contact through letters when Evie takes hold of her destiny and arranges a marriage on the sly. Each brave young woman is ready to face whatever an unknown groom and life in Montana can throw her way.

In Holland’s book, bride-to-be Trudy Bauer rides the train to Sweetwater Springs, in a Montana Sky Novel. In Fyffe’s Novel, house servant Evie Davenport travels by stagecoach to Y Knot, Montana in a McCutcheon Family Novel. Through their correspondence, the friends keep each other abreast of their hardships, trials and tribulations—some of heartbreak, some of love.

Meet the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Debra Holland wears several hats when it comes to writing. As a psychotherapist, she writes nonfiction books. The Essential Guide to Grief and Grieving is her first nonfiction book. More nonfiction books about grieving, boundary setting with difficult people, and relationships, are forthcoming.

Debra also writes fiction--Historial Western Romance, Contemporary Romance, Fantasy Romance, and Science Fiction. Her Montana Sky series, sweet historical Western romances, is published by Amazon Montlake. The Gods' Dream Trilogy (fantasy romance) is available on Kindle.

The common publishing philosophy is that an author should take different pen names for different kinds of book or "the reader will be confused." Debra thinks her readers are smart enough to distinguish between her various books. Thus, she's publishing everything under her own name.

Debra lives in Southern California and has one dogs and two cats. She's a second degree blackbelt and teaches martial arts. She also is a corporate crisis/grief counselor. Sign up for her newsletter or learn more about her at www.drdebraholland.com.

Alright, I'm a guy, and will admit that this is the first "Romance" type book I have ever read, which I hoped my friends wouldn't catch me with.
That's how I felt before I read Trudy. Now that I have finished it, I'm telling them about the book and am loaning it out.
I really enjoyed it. Honestly I did.
The authors writing style was a pleasure to breeze through, leaving a clear and precise image in my mind.
One may notice that there was no sex in the book, and to that I say thank you. I felt this may happen through out the book, and it turns into a tease. Just like life itself. The way one would like to believe it was back in the 1800's. The way it should be now.
Her vocabulary to me appeared to be dated accurately, and made the story an interesting read, with an historical flair. And I like Trudy. She is the type of woman any respectable man would want to meet and get to know. I would read this book early in the morning to start my day, and it never failed to put a smile on my face.

    I Also Recommend:

    Boring and Tedious..............................................

    Boring and Tedious..........................................................................
Over 400 pages of dull.  Flat dialogue.   No sex at all not even after a month of marriage.  Though they  were thinking about it.  Endless description of trivia.  How he washed his hands.  How she bought eggs.   No real meat to the story.  Save your money.
