    Sweet read

Sweet and happy ending for Maude and John. Enjoyable but a short 162 pages. Would have liked it a little longer.

Romance fans who enjoy Mail Order Bride stories will enjoy this

Romance fans who enjoy Mail Order Bride stories will enjoy this first short story in the Brides of Beckham series. Beckham, Massachusetts is the setting for Harriet to start her mail order bride business. Her first client is a young lady who is being forced to marry an older lecherous wealthy suitor. Maude decides to escape her horrible arranged marriage and become a mail order bride. The story is well written with interesting characters, but short and predictable. I look forward to the rest of the series.

    I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book. Even though it is a very short, quick read. It has about 75 pages. So you can read it in an afternoon. But it is sweet and well written. I coukdnt helo but want to read a little more of this story. I can tell you that i will be reading her other books. Thank goodness for free books, it allows one to find new authors with great books.

    Ok

Short, about 136 pages. Well edited. Fairly well written. Predictable. Not enough depth to the characters. Poor baby had to do a lot of housework to make her new home livable. I found it hard to believe her parents sold her to a much older man without being aware of his character. After they knew him for many years. Contains quite a bit of sex.

The story sort of went nowhere. Warning- some plot spoilers.

It also ended in what seemed like the middle of a paragraph. Too bad, because I liked the characters, but the plot just didn't have much depth. The only controverdy was when the villain showed up, but that was so unbelieveable as to be laughable. Really? We're expected to believe a villain would travel by train 5 days from Boston to Iowa in that time period just to follow a woman who jilted him? Especially when he knows she has already married someone else? I also don't buy that loving parents would have acted how they did. The father could have gotten another job in a big city like Boston.

Could have been so much more

The author doesn't weave the story very well. Very predictable. I like the hero and heroine, however, they were written without much depth. The villain was a laughable caricature. This is the second book I've read by the author. I'm glad it was free, too bad the other book wasn't.
