Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"A lovely book! The photos and essays capture all the natural beauty as well as the soul of Maine."--William S. Cohen

"This truly lovely book captures both the beauty of Maine and the extraordinary talent of the photographer. The accompanying essays are also illustrative of just how inspiring Maine can be."–Senator Susan M. Collins

"Terrell Lester has taken a delightful stroll through Maine's diverse seasons–and with his images acquaints readers with our beautiful state. Maine: The Seasons deserves a place on the bookshelves of armchair travelers and residents near and far–as well as anyone inspired by the beautiful landscapes and lakes, mountains and coastline of northern New England."–Senator Olympia J. Snowe

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Photographer Terrell S. Lester presents rich images of his adopted home state in Maine: The Seasons. With essays by Ann Beattie, Richard Ford, Richard Russo and Elizabeth Strout, the 120 full-color photos of Maine in all its natural and cultural glory and nuance will make residents proud and potential visitors covetous. Beattie, a half-year resident, writes, "Maine is a serious place masquerading as a summer paradise," articulating something intangible also evoked by these photos of struggling mom-and-pop fishing businesses and untouched landscapes, something that modern visitors and homeowners increasingly crave as it slips from sight: authenticity, as opposed to quaint-making gentrification.
