Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
There are four chunky board books shaped like blocks in this tall box. They can be read and/or played with just like blocks. The four titles are Maisy's Favorite Animals, Maisy's Favorite Toys, Maisy's Favorite Things, and Maisy's Favorite Clothes. Kids see Maisy playing with a ball, duck, puzzle, and strumming a guitar. When she meets her favorite animals, the cover shows her nursing lambs, and inside the book she feeds a duck and collects eggs from a hen. All of us have our favorite clothes and Maisy is no exception. Among the many clothes she owns, her favorites are green underwear with red hearts, a multicolored swimsuit, and a cute ballet outfit. In Maisy's Favorite Things, kids learn that Maisy likes books, crayons, yummy foods like Jello and ice cream, and also enjoys exercise on the swings and slide—note in this review set, this block is printed backwards. 2006, Candlewick, Ages 6 mo. to 3.
