Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
In this bilingual board book, toddlers will learn the Spanish and English words for various types of clothing. In the first scene, it is raining and there is a rain hat, raincoat, umbrella, and boots that Maisy and Cryil are wearing as they stomp in the puddles. The successive pages show other items kids wear like a T-shirt, swimsuit, hat, and clothes that are more dressy as well as possible outfits for Halloween, such as a fairy costume (el traje de hada) or a pirate costume (el traje pirata). At the end of the book a spread features pajamas and a robe showing Maisy and Charley getting ready for bed. Simple words and illustrations will help children learn Spanish and English words and also offer an opportunity for interaction in bilingual families. The one drawback in this series is the lack of pronunciation guidance. "A Maisy Dual-language Book." Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
