Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Eleanor Heldrich
What fun! Maisy, the little white English mouse, is back and she has a stand-up house and garden in which she can work and play. The covers of the 9 ½" by 12" book can be tied together in back to become a four-room pop-up house with a large garden in front. Inside the garden there is a stiff cardboard pull-off with pictures of clothing, toys and tools to punch out and play with. Also included is a little booklet with instructions for finding the Maisy paper doll and suggestions for fun ways to play with all the punch out pieces. Throughout the house there are doors that swing open, flaps to lift and tabs to pull. The bright, cheerful colors of the illustrations are appealing and young readers will be learning without realizing they are being taught by a master of educational books for the young and curious.
