Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Maisy's having fun all year-round! Lucy Cousins' adorable mouse stars in this oversize board book with plenty of flaps and a wheel to turn. Springtime finds Maisy meeting baby animals, all hiding under various flaps arrayed across the page, while summer brings her and her friends to the beach (turning the wheel reveals what Charley's catching in the water!). Fall has Maisy and Cyril in the garden digging up vegetables and picking apples, and winter is time for fun in the snow. But can you guess what things Maisy likes to do all year? Large flaps on the last page give clues about what's underneath! This large book has all the charm and fun that fans cherish, and the sturdy flaps will hold up well against wear and tear. This Maisy book is mouse-tacular!
Children's Literature
Maisy, the familiar white mouse with pink ears, long pink tail and pink whiskers is back in a lift-the-flaps, turn-the-wheel board book of four double-page spreads—one for each season. Because this book is for very young children, everything about it is substantial. The flaps are easy to find and lift; but they will not easily tear. The page with the turning wheel shows just enough edge on the wheel for little fingers to turn but not mutilate. All of the illustrations are simple, colorful, and easy to identify. There are lots of things for reader and child to talk about and laugh together over, too, such as a mother bird in a tree feeding her babies, a spider in the window swinging on a spider web, a flap that sends a ball sailing through the air and another that turns a pile of snow into a snow mouse! 2002, Candlewick Press, Ages 1 to 4.

    Cute book for smaller kids

Was looking for a book to explain the seasons to my almost 3 year old son and after not having any luck in-store, the sales associate recommended this book. The flip up tabs is what sold me so I ordered it. Totally was not what I expected as this book is more geared towards smaller kids and it doesn't explain the seasons. It was cute but not what I was looking for.
