Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Get a ticket and have a seat -- join Maisy and friends as they take a train ride to the country! Lucy Cousins' beloved mouse stars in this sweet board book about all the things the travelers see on their trip. Children will be chug-chugging with Maisy up hills, down valleys, and through tunnels, and they'll say howdy to friendly animals along the way. Readers will love seeing sweet Maisy's excitement as she drives her train, and her greetings to the animals are a fun lesson for preschoolers. Bright and cheery like all of Maisy's adventures, Maisy's Train is a playful ride on the rails. Toot toot!
Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Nothing keeps Maisy down. Today she is a train engineer in this shaped board book. All those familiar with Maisy will recognize her and her friends as they set out on this trip through the country. From the train, she greets geese in a pond, a goat on a hill and then a white cotton-tailed rabbit in the Valley. Before they all head into the train tunnel, they wave goodbye to a white bird with brown wings only to be greeted on the other side by a colorful butterfly. All too soon the trip is over, and they have arrived back at the station. According to the clock this excursion has lasted more than four hours and everyone seems to have had a good time as they wave goodbye to engineer Maisy. The back cover notes that this book is "super sturdy" and it has wipe-clean board pages. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
