These are a great collection of Penguin books. The covers and spines of each book are fabric and have a great texture to them. Each book also comes with a built in ribbon bookmark. The case that houses them is very nice as well. great addition to any library.
The editions are well made: pages thick, with a good size font and ribbon bookmark. The casing is a nice touch and keeps the books from getting dusty. But I DO miss the illustrations. Even the paperback versions had them. It's a shame. Phiz's pics really add to the work and will be missed.
Can't be any happier with my purchase! The set comes with the most loved works by Dickens: A Tale of Two Cities, Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol and other Stores, Bleak House, and Hard Times. Each cover has a distinctive motif that well representing the title. These are some sturdy and beautiful clothebound editions that are available on the market. As usual, the Penguin classics editions all have excellent introductions, appendixes and end notes for references. Did I mention the case that houses the books is also of high quality. I am to add this set to my own collection. Barnes and Noble's price actually is pretty much the same as Amazon's. I bought mine using the 20 percent off coupon. So there, I got a good deal and was very pleased with the lightning fast shipment by B&N. Thanks!
