Editorial Reviews

Library Journal

The increase in availability of a wide variety of beads has popularized bead jewelry crafting. What we once knew as simple beads on a string have become complex creations of glass, ceramics, stone, or metal. These books give step-by-step instructions that may be followed explicitly or used as a point of departure for original designs for all types of jewelry. Campbell (Beadwork Creates Beaded Bags) emphasizes traditional beading stitches in her projects for bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings. LaFerla (Making Creative Baskets) uses simple stringing with large beads made of exotic materials and gemstones. And Remmers uses wires and chains to good effect in creating colorful bracelets and necklaces reminiscent of the flower leis of her native Hawaii (her beaded watchbands are especially lovely). All are good choices for public libraries wanting more beading material.

Make It In Minutes Is What I Liked Best

I needed a comprehensive guide to techniques for simple beading and I found it here. Easy to follow and understand. I found the sample projects a springboard to design items with my stash of beads. Within minutes it was easy to bead several bracelets, earrings and watch band. I loved being able to sit for an evening and accoumplish so much with just the right help from this wonderful guide.

    Definitely worthwhile.

Although not all the projects are of interest to me, the book gives detailed information for creating lovely jewelry.
    I would recommend this book.

    Excellent book/tutorial

Thank you Wendy Remmers! I am currently taking a jewelry making class at the local community center; I wanted to learn more about the craft and went to the library. I found your book and fell in love! Thank you for the wonderful projects, step by step instructions, and for the inspiration you have given this novice beaded jewelry maker.

Great Book for starters or to spark ideas

This book has a beautiful color and really nice pages. The colors are wonderful, easy creative ideas to get someone started or to spark creative ideas of your own. If you want to make a few items fast this will make it easy.
