Makieba is a young girl who grew homesick after relocating from Kenya, East Africa, to the United States with her parents. She felt isolated, unhappy, and missed her friends dearly. Learning how to adapt to a new way of living was a challenge. Makieba's Mother decided to cheer her daughter up by allowing her friends from Kenya to visit her for " Makieba's First Pajama Party." Makieba is excited to introduce some of the American ways of living to her friends in the hope that it would be " A Week to Remember!"

About the Author

Delores Chappell, aka Lil Mz Poetic, is a children's book writer, published author and poet. She published her first children's book entitled: Seven Little Monkeys Making New Friends with Trafford Publishing.

She is a prolific writer and is working on several books entitled: Jumpin Jumper;" A Frog with an Attitude," "Makieba's First Pajama Party," " The Elephant and the Peanutman," and "Tiggy the Talking Turtle,"--just to name a few.

As a poet, she has been acknowledge in several written books by: Mr. Tajiye Antwine. The most recent one is entitled: " The Bricks That Built the Brick House." Delores, is also a member of a publishing company/writing club called; Blacktastic.net.

Her passion for writing comes from a love deep within her heart for children. Delores hopes through her writing, "One Book at a Time," will make a difference all over the world for "Our Children!"
