As a nearly lifelong journal-er I have always appreciated papers and handmade books for both written and art journaling, but I can't say that I was ever tempted to make a book myself - before I saw this book that is! There are a lot books that claim to be 'complete' or 'compendiums' of techniques. To my way of thinking there are few books that actually live up to those merits. "Making Handmade Books" is one of those few titles that does not claim to be complete, replete or a compendium but succeeds in being all of that and more. No kidding! If you have ever been tempted ( or are even like me and didn't think that you were interested) to learn what making a handmade book would entail - this is the book to read. Ms. Golden once again manages to fill the pages of this book with so much, very complete, information that if you could only have one book about making books - this would be the one to choose.

I have looked at several books on this subject and I think this is one of the better ones out there. I love the wide selection of binding choices to learn. I also love how easy the directions are to follow. I would recommend this book to everyone. The only thing I do not care for is that I can only open it on my Nook but it won't open on my IPad if I choose to use that.

This is an excellent book, and well worth having as a reference - or just to read for fun and inspiration! Only thing that kept me from giving it all 5 stars was the accessibility issue. This is a Page Perfect book, and on my Nook Color's screen it's very difficult to read even if I do the pinch trick to zoom in on sections of the pages - most book pages aren't designed to be read in sections! But unlike other Page Perfect books that I've bought, this one absolutely will not dowload to Nook for PC. Since the main reason I bought the book was so that I could open it up on my laptop and have a LARGE picture and instructions to refer to while I'm working on a project, I have not been able to really use this book to the extent that I wanted to or enjoy it as much as I'd like.

This book should never have been available in the nook book format. The font is so small, it cannot be read, even with a magnifying glass. Apparently the publisher restriction prevents enlargement of the font.

This product is incompatible with the first edition AND the mobil app AND the PC app seriously.  I also think since I have to register my device to my account it should at least warn me that the book is incompatible with anything i have access too.  FRUSTRATING.

I wasn't even able to read this ebook - I have the PC version of Nook and it was not compatiable. Frustrating. I'm hoping to read "Making Handmade Books" someday...

Ordered this book with another book a week ago and still haven't received it. Received the other book I ordered but not this one. Still waiting. So my rating is just that I shouldn't get a review for a book that hasn't shipped yet.
