Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
05/01/2014
This title explores the connection between drawing and intuition. Clayton invites readers to explore a nongoal-oriented, doodle-like stream-of-consciousness drawing technique. Here, finished sketches are unimportant, while self-discovery is paramount. Many open-ended exercises, which are written in an engaging, descriptive narrative style, encourage readers to make marks on paper as a way of exploring memory, tapping into their own creative force and logic, and even connecting with others. VERDICT While this book may not suit every reader, it could have significant appeal across art instruction, self-help, and psychology subject areas.
Dr. Raymond Moody

Wow, this incredible book really makes you think outside of the box, way outside of the box. I love doing the exercises, drawing with my non-dominate hand with my eyes closed and then using my colored pencils to make a picture. You never know what will come out of the creative process and it amazes me that it gives me an answer to my question. I will refer to this process from now on. It's exciting and it all comes from within me, I like that!
