    Not what I was expecting.

I won't say that this book was bad, just disappointing. I was hoping for a much more organized, fun and thorough description of Dr. Phil and his success as a media icon. I felt that Dembler and Gutierrez missed the mark. The writing was not that engaging as it seemed to be pieced together, quote after quote and hearsay being the main word count. Also the end (don't worry this will not ruin the end for anyone) had a chapter that focused on Dr. Phil's Life Laws, or more accurately focused on making fun of Dr. Phil's Life Laws. I thought it was very petty of them to do this. On the whole, the biography did not live up to being an actual good, descriptive biography of any kind. It was not what I was led to expect.

Making of Dr. Phil: The Straight-Talking True Story of Everyone's Favorite Therapist

I have read all of Dr. Phil's self-help books, and found this one to be the most interesting of all. It offers insights into his background, while revealing the secrets of his success. I also enjoyed reading about the life strategies he follows in his own life. It's full of commentary from Dr. Phil and everyone from Oprah to his friends and family. I learned many new things about his life and think that everyone even remotely interested in Dr. Phil will find this book to be of interest.
