Overview

According to statistics, at least 50% of parents bring their children into their beds at least some of the time. Why, then, is the family bed such a controversial topic for so many? Making the Family Bed explores this and many other questions and issues regarding the important parenting issue of cosleeping.

In this book you will also read the personal stories of over fifty women from all over North America; these women have been kind enough to share their personal experiences with the family bed in order to provide you with information and details you won’t find anywhere else. While statistics and expert opinions are important to know, there’s nothing quite like taking a look into the lives of other families and seeing how they make the family bed work in their own lives.

Editorial Reviews

Lulu.com - Erin Martinelli
Great book! Susan does a great job at writing mom to mom. There are experts who write on both sides of the cosleeping issue, but this book is different because it is written from the perspective of a "regular mom" who's done it! In addition, she shares the experiences of several families and as you read the book, you begin to feel connected to them. This is a must read parenting book, there's no lecturing, no posturing. It's like talking to a bunch of good friends. WELL DONE!!

I always figured co-sleeping with a new baby was the norm. Was I surprised to find such controversy over the subject when I had my first baby! The more I talked about it to friends, the more I found that people *want* to talk about it! Susan does an excellent job with this work in connecting several families' stories for any parent to read who wants to research the concept of the family bed from a personal perspective. Thanks, Susan, for your contribution to dispelling the myths of co-sleeping.
