Overview

In Making the "Terrible" Twos Terrific!, family psychologist and syndicated columnist John Rosemond, America's most widely read parenting authority, explains the keys to negotiating this potentially tumultuous time. He guides parents through toilet training, establishing good bedtime habits, developing an effective disciplinary style, controlling biting and other aggressive behaviors, and many other issues that come with the territory. In addition, Rosemond gives parents a tried-and-true recipe for bringing out the very best in their young children - a "best" that will translate into success in school, good peer relationships, and more stable and productive teen years.

This is the best book I have read on parenting toddlers, and I've read many! Most parenting books are a bunch of psychobabble. John Rosemond manages to present his philosophy of child rearing in an everyday language. But the best thing about this book is that he gives you actual examples and actual possible solutions to the problems. As a mother of an extremely strong willed toddler, the challenges are endless. I find myself reaching for this book time and again for help.

This book has been good enough for al four of my kids. It's amazing how much is over looked in our day to day activities. He is a little bit of a hard nose in several areas - just do as we've done and step around those with your own gut feelings.
