Editorial Reviews

January Magazine
Sam's hardboiled narrative is as hypnotizing and pleasurable as a happy purr.
New York Post
Great wordplay, cool characters, a little romance, and a mystery... A perfect book to read aloud to the whole family--provided you can read and laugh at the same time.
A real treat! Colorful characters, engaging dialogue and a solid plot kept me turning pages.

At last ! A real story!

Most kid books today are so preachy, Every one has a little PC agenda message that can't be missed. This is just a good, funny story . No sermons, just good literature.

    The cat's meow

Judge this book by its knock-out cover. Mystery, cats, humor, this Kitten's got it all. Not sure who liked it more-- my kids (8 and ll), my wife (won't tell her age) or me (41) but it makes for a great read-aloud. Adults who've read, or seen, The Maltese Falcon will appreciate, as we did, the fine, catty parallel, while the kids just loved the jokes and the many twists of the mystery, and the sharply-defined characters of the large cast of cats. Bravo to Ms. Stewart. A real tour de force.
