Children are introduced to 12 mammals through how they swim in water; with additional information on the animals in a section following the main text. On left-hand pages are realistic illustrations of the animals swimming or in their natural habitat near water. The right-hand pages have cartoon-like illustrations of the young boy asking the question about the animals while taking a bath and also illustrations of the different animals involved with the boy in the bath. The imaginative work for children ages 3-6 is an entertaining, humorous way for them to learn a little about a number of wild animals. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I recently purchased a copy of this book to give to my cousin's two grandsons. What a delightful book. The storyline is interesting, amusing and very informative.Francine Poppo Rich has done much research about facts relating to the animals in her book. There is a wonderful balance of reality and fantasy which is demonstrated by the delightful illustrations of Thomas Bone (humorous drawings) and Anthony Le Tourneau (very realistic animal drawings). At the end of the book, Mrs. Poppo has an information section about the animals and there is also a question page.
