    WOW!

I laughed till I cried. Hilarious yet beautiful prose...divine storytelling, eccentric characters. If you love Southern tales this book will delight you from beginning to end. I've read everything Bailey White has written and keep waiting (hoping) for her to write more.

One of the funniest books ever!

I read this book back when it was first published. It's still, by far, one of the best and funniest books I've ever read. The story about the bicycle race going past her mom's house - after her mom has moved the bathtub to the front porch - is a running joke in my family. Reminds me of growing up in St. Petersburg, Florida.

    DOWN HOME

Bailey White's heart warming tales remind me of the stories I heard as a child....before TV & Movies. These are the rich kind of tales that only an elder can repeat and embellish. They become dearer with each telling. Without these we would have no past.
