    Awesome Marvelness

Both Marvel and DC comics had there own Muck Monsters back in the day. Being more of a Marvel fan, I followed Steve Gerber's Man-Thing. As a young fan in those days I will admit I didn't always see the unusual twists that Steve was putting into his work. It was nice to revisit these. And wow, great art by Ploog, Adams, Morrow, John Buscema, Mooney, Brunner among others. I find the Omnibus form of book gives me an easy way to re-read these stories. Many of the Gerber-Ploog stories hold up well, especially the Clown story and the one about the guy and his dog. Oh, and don't forget, Howard the Duck.
